Apple users can now pair iPhones with Samsung wearables including the Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit 2. Samsung recently announced that its Gear S and Gear Fit apps are available at the Apple App store.
Rumors have circulated that Samsung would implement iOS compatibility for its wearables since the Gear S2’s launch in 2015. The Gear S3 in particular released in the U.S. on Nov. 2016 and is still set to release in some markets, while the Gear Fit 2 released in June 2016.
The Gear S3 features a 1.3-inch circular 360x360 resolution AMOLED display, a dual-core 1GHz Samsung Exynos chip, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 380 mAh battery, IP68 water, wind and dust resistance, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and the Tizen Wearable OS 2.3.2 operating system. The Frontier model includes cellular and LTE capability.
The Gear S2 features a 1.5-inch display, a dual-core 1GHz Exynos 3250 chip, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 200mAh battery.
The wearables are also compatible with devices running Android 4.4 or higher.
