Samsung announced the Gear S3 smartwatch in September and the wearable is now available for preorder; it will go on sale Nov. 18.
In the U.S., the Gear S3 Classic model will be available at Best Buy, Amazon, Macy's and Samsung.com. The smartwatch is priced starting at $349.99.
Carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon will offer the Gear S3 Frontier model, which features LTE capability, allowing users to make phone calls directly from the phone.
AT&T is offering the Gear S3 Frontier for $249.99. It will also begin shipping Nov. 18. T-Mobile and Verizon have not yet announced preorder or release date information for the smartwatch.
The Gear S3 features a 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display with a 360x360 resolution and Corning's new Gorilla Glass SR+, a dual-core 1GHz Samsung Exynos chip, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, a 380 mAh battery, IP68 water, wind and dust resistance, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and the Tizen Wearable OS 2.3.2 operating system.
The Gear S3 Classic model is more like a standard watch in design, while the Frontier is more rugged and includes voice, internet and music streaming support.
