Gladiators should start preparing their suits for Thursday, when the first Season 6 trailer of Scandal makes its world premiere. Stars and showrunners shared a preview of the trailer on social media Tuesday, which includes an explosion and an exasperated former president, Fitzgerald Grant.
Scandal Season 6 still won’t premiere until February 2017; however, there are already some details known about the show. Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes revealed in August that the show, which is following a fictional presidential election, will announce its new president during the first episode. The new president in Scandal will be either Mellie Grant or Francisco Vargas.
The premiere of Season 6 was postponed due to star Kerry Washington’s pregnancy. Instead of premiering in the fall, Scandal will return at mid-season. Washington’s second child, a boy named Caleb Kelechi Asomugha was born in mid-October. However, filming for Season 6 began in July, meaning viewers can expect to see Washington hiding in a lot of large jackets and behind lamps, since Olivia Pope is not pregnant in the show.
Scandal Season 6 is expected to return Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
