Nintendo has announced the second free weapon DLC for Splatoon 2 on the official Japanese Splatoon Twitter account. The Dualie Squelcher is a variant on the normal Splat weapon but acts like the Splat Dualies, a new weapon in Splatoon 2.
According to the Splatoon 2 Twitter account, the Dualie Squelcher acts like the normal Splat Weapon but can be fired twice as fast (because there are now two of them) but won’t fire at the same rate as the normal Splat Dualies.
It comes with the Point Sensor sub weapon , which when thrown explodes in a spherical purple cloud and tags any enemy Inkling in range with a swirling squid marker. Tagged enemies can be seen through barriers by all teammates, allowing them to be easily tracked.
The Dualie Squelcher’s special weapon is the Tenta Missiles. Players fire off missiles into the air and perform an air strike, it’s one of the more powerful specials in the game.

The post confirms that this free DLC weapon will release on Splatoon 2 starting Friday, July 28 at 10 p.m. EDT so players will be able to get their hands on the new weapon very soon.
This is the second week in a row that Nintendo has released a free weapon for Splatoon 2. The first Sunday after the game’s release Nintendo released the Inkbrush, a variation on the Octobrush.
The Inkbrush makes players faster and covers ground more quickly but it isn’t as wide as the Octobrush, so it’s definitely for more aggressive players.
Nintendo said during its Splatoon 2 Direct that they will be adopting the same DLC plans as they did with the first game, continually adding new weapons and stages for at least one year. With two new weapons in two weeks, fans can probably expect a third weapon very soon.
Splatoon 2 is out now for Nintendo Switch.
