Ads and store displays for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray release have been leaking online for the past few weeks, with many sites predicting an April 18 release date. But Disney CEO Bob Iger just moved up the timeline significantly, announcing on a call with investors that The Force Awakens would be available digitally on April 1, with a Blu-ray and DVD release to follow on April 5.
Bonus features for the Episode 7 Blu-ray have already leaked. Featurettes on the disc include “Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey,” “The Story Awakens: The Table Read,” “Building BB-8,” “Crafting Creatures,” “Blueprint of a Battle: The Snow Fight,” “John Williams: The Seventh Symphony” and most exciting of all, deleted scenes.
UPDATE: The official announcement for the digital release confirms that all of the leaked featurettes will be part of the bonus material.

Some stores will also have exclusive packaging and features, with Target offering an exclusive bonus interview with Force Awakens stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. But collectors might want to opt for the Disney Store version of the Blu-ray release, which includes an exclusive lithograph from the movie.
