In July of 2015 Disney announced (on StarWars.com) the second Star Wars Story after Rogue One would be a solo Han Solo movie directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie) with a May 25, 2018 release date.
On Wednesday Disney CEO Bob Iger said, "This is the first of a set of planned stand-alone stories," describing Rogue One, "we're already in preproduction on our next one, for release in May of 2018."
