If you’re one of those excited for Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, we have some good news for you. Pre-orders are now available through various platforms. Those who pre-order not only get the game but also the alternative outfit pack for the characters at launch.
The game is launching May 19 on PC through the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A version for Nintendo Switch is in development with the release scheduled for later this year.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong follows the story of mysterious assassins attacking the Boston Camarilla. This is a secret society composed of most of the vampires in the city. The vampires Galeb Bazory, Emem Louis, and Leysha have been asked by the Prince of the city’s Kindred to find out the identity of the attackers and the reason for the large-scale attack. The orders are simple: infiltrate, investigate and get answers. If necessary, use supernatural powers.
The game is an adaptation of the pen and paper title with players taking control of three heroes, each having their own character sheets. Through their choices, players get to shape the stats of their characters. With the use of their skills, they can pick a lock, intimidate an NPC or make more efficient deductions based on hints. The characters also have vampiric powers known as Disciplines. These allow them to reach inaccessible areas, conceal their presence, or foresee potential futures.
The game gives players the chance to explore a wide range of environments while experiencing skillfully-crafted dialogs and solving puzzles. There’s also a branching story where each choice comes with a consequence. Fans of the original should be happy to know that the characters have been finely developed and remain faithful to the World of Darkness IP.
Overall, players can expect more than 15 different endings for the main characters.
