No, Carl probably isn’t the one who meets Lucille in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. Calm down, people.
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman appeared on Chris Hardwick’s show @Midnigh t where he joked about the show’s Season 6 finale. Kirkman couldn’t help but mess with fans in the audience by making a terrible joke about Carl’s death.
“On the next exciting episode of The Walking Dead , we find out how mad fans are when they find out Negan killed Carl in the Season 6 cliffhanger," Kirkman told Hardwick.
"People wanted to know!" Kirkman added. "I'm not gonna make you wait all summer! I'm not an a--hole!" Surely, he's joking and poking a little fun at his own TV show.”
Chill guys, The Walking Dead TV series isn’t about to kill Carl, ever. Carl is the future of Rick. When Rick eventually dies, Carl will take over and become leader of the zombie-filled world. Carl’s also pretty invincible in The Walking Dead comics and show. The dude has been shot at twice and survived.
As for who ultimately died in The Walking Dead Season 6, our money’s on Eugene right now. Glenn is the obvious choice, but there were little hints in the finale that makes us believe it’s Eugene. The biggest hint came when Eugene gave Rick the recipe to make bullets; if the character was sticking around, there would be no need to waste precious screen time on long goodbyes.
We’ll have to wait until October to see who gets beaten to death by Negan. You can watch full episodes of The Walking Dead on AMC.
