An early Watch Dogs 2 trailer clip has leaked online, and it confirms everything we already knew about the game. The trailer, originally spotted on Twitch and uploaded online by Twitter user Steve Kim, can be watched below. It might be taken down ahead of the formal trailer release later today, so watch now!
WD2by AbriaelFeaturing car chases, running on buildings, women partying in horse masks, and a ton of cell phone hacking, this trailer has everything you would expect for Watch Dogs 2. Based on the video, we can confirm Watch Dogs 2 will be set in San Francisco, feature a new protagonist and release on Nov. 15.
San Francisco isn’t too surprising of a setting, and has been the rumored location of Watch Dogs 2 for a long time. Given the city’s notoriety as being a big hub of new tech, setting a game about hacking there also makes a ton of sense.
As for the new protagonist, this is the best thing Watch Dogs 2 has going for it right now. The protagonist of the first Watch Dogs, Aiden Pearce, was a boring sack of turds. At least with a new character, Ubisoft might be able to make the game about someone interesting instead of about a man who’s completely oblivious to the consequences of his actions, then gets upset when things don’t go his way. Maybe there will be less Bale-Batman brooding and grumbling as well.
In other Watch Dogs 2 news, Amazon has leaked the Deluxe and Gold editions of Watch Dogs 2 early. The posting is still up, but information about the game has been taken down. VG247 reports that the Deluxe edition will be $70, while the Gold edition will go for $100. The Deluxe edition will probably include exclusive DLC or something, and the Gold edition is likely to come packed with a Season Pass of some sorts. This is an Ubisoft game after all.
