Blizzard has quickly disabled the new Warbanks feature in the Warbands that was added with World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion due to a critical issue of players losing some currency.
The development comes as the pre-patch for The War Within just arrived, bringing Warbands that aim to make progression and gearing smoother for players across multiple characters.
The idea of running multiple alts is one that is done by a lot of World of Warcraft players.
World of Warcraft Warbank Issue
However, it is also considered one of the most frustrating parts of keeping up with the current gear meta in the massively multiplayer online RPG.
The major issue right now is that when some players try to transfer gold and other currencies between their characters using Warbanks, their hard-earned resources suddenly vanish, according to PCGamesN.
Warbands are the newest feature in World of Warcraft brought with The War Within expansion.
But with the launch of the pre-patch ahead of the official release date, many players started to report that they were losing currencies when trying to use the Warbank's currency transfer feature.
One player wrote on the Blizzard forums that they lost 100,000 Dragon Isles supplies and 1,500 Darkmoon Prize tickets when using the new feature.
In response to the reports, World of Warcraft community manager Randy "Kaivax" Jordan announced the disabling of the Warband Warbank feature.
The War Within Expansion
He said that this will be in place while the team works on addressing the critical issue, adding that it is a top priority item so that they can enable the feature as soon as possible. The Warband system is the main addition of The War Within, said PCGamer.
It is the way that Blizzard is trying to unify players' characters after years of efforts to bridge them together. The transmog system lets you put cosmetics on your characters based on gear appearances that you earn on your other characters.
Also, all mounts and toys are shared and when you complete campaigns and major quests on one character, you can skip the same ones on the rest. Blizzard has codified these improvements with Warbands and expanded upon them.
Those who are eager to get into the expansion can also dip their hands in the Radiant Echoes pre-expansion event.
This will run from July 30, 2024, to Aug. 26, 2024, where you will have to confront the memories of Azeroth and collect Residual Memories to buy new items you can add to your Warband collection, according to Blizzard News.
