It’s just been five months into the year and already there was some truly intense competition in World of Warcraft. That’s about to go to the next level as The Great Push kicks off today. This tourney lasts until May 30 and offers a prize pool of $20,000.
As proof of how competitive this one is, Blizzard revealed in a post that more than 2,100 teams had signed up for the chance to join the final push. That’s around at least 10,000 players and only the top six teams have advanced to this weekend’s event. Think about that! It’s even more competitive than some esports tournaments.
Competition Format
The top six teams are:
- Ambition
- Does the Bear Stream?
- Echo
- Sheeesh
- Skyline
- Yep
These teams are tasked with completing all six dungeons to have the highest Keystones possible. While teams can complete the dungeons in any order, they only get five hours per day to test their skills. Teams also need to start their final run before the time ends.
At the end of the competition, the team’s highest Keystone from each of the dungeons is combined, and the one having the highest becomes the ultimate champion. This means teams must have both speed and skills.

PvP Brawl
Aside from watching the action of The Great Push, players can also enjoy this week’s PvP Brawl, Gravity Lapse. This resource race starts on May 25 and ends on June 1. As the title implies, gravity plays a role in this particular brawl.
For every minute, players on the battlefield can find themselves suddenly being launched to the air. After that, they fall gently to the ground. The ultimate goal is to be the team that gathers the most resources.
