World of Warcraft announced that its first one-off tournament of the year is scheduled from May 28 to 30. The event titled “The Great Push” is offering a prize pool of $20,000. Additionally, the tournament is separate from the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI).

Generally, teams in MDIs fight and beat the time of their opponents to win. The Great Push, however, puts focus on teams pushing keys as high as they possibly can. The goal is to outsurvive other teams to become the champion.

Here are some of the details of The Great Push:

  • Any team of five can register for the event here.
    • Registrations are accepted until May 17.
    • No prerequisites are needed to play in the event.
  • Teams compete in the initial qualifier phase, which is the Proving Grounds from May 22 to 23.
    • Teams are given two dungeon keystone combinations to push to the highest difficulty they can reach in the tournament realm.
  • The top six teams from the qualifier get an invite to the main tournament.
    • Here, they compete across different Shadowlands Dungeons to push their keystones as high as possible.
  • The winning team is the one who has the highest overall score for dungeons pushed and crowned the champion.

The tournament will be broadcasted live on both YouTube and Twitch. Not only that, but players can also stream the tournament including the time they are in the Proving Grounds. Fans can choose to follow their favorite team and players during the tourney.

MDI Global Finals

Before The Great Push arrives, fans can enjoy the MDI Global Finals which has a $300,000 prize pool. It’s happening from April 23 to 25 with matches to be streamed exclusively on YouTube. You can learn about it here.

Hotfixes

World of Warcraft released a few hotfixes early this week. One of these was a fix that resolved the issue of Epic Battlegrounds rewarding players with less experience than intended for characters between levels 50 and 60. The patch also slightly lowered the difficulty of the Paragon's Challenge for the Bastion World Quest "Flight School: Flapping Frenzy."
