Apex Legends released its latest patch which adds plenty of Qualify of Life changes. The update also brings with it the new Iron Crown Event. You can read more about the new event here.
Overall, there are three quality of life changes introduced with this latest patch. The first is that there is now a Death Recap to the end of the match summary. What this does is show players the damage summary of their last battle.
The second change is that the Match Summary now has better UI in order to better show players their Battle Pass progression.
Finally, the third improvement is the addition of an in-game survey. This survey can pop up at any time, even while you are playing a new game. It generally asks players if they enjoyed the last match. For Apex Legends, this was done to help improve the game.
This being an update, it goes without saying that there are balance changes and fixes as well. In terms of weapon balance, the Disruptor Rounds with Alternator had its shielded damage multiplier reduced to 1.55 from 1.7. According to the Apex Legends design team, the disruptor rounds on the Alternator were shredding shields faster than intended, hence the reduction.
For the RE-45, the magazine size was increased for all tiers:
- Base: 16
- Common magazine: 19
- Rare magazine: 22
- Epic magazine: 25
The goal of this particular change was to give this weapon a small increase in power by adding one more round for each mag size. Downing a non-fortified enemy with the RE-45 with 0, 50, 75, and 100 shields requires 10, 14, 16, and 19 shots respectively. Having the extra round means the gun now has the ability to one-mag more armored enemies instead of leaving them barely alive.
Finally the R-301 had both the horizontal and vertical recoil increased. In addition, the recoil pattern randomness was increased slightly. Like the Alternator, the R-301 looked to be stronger than intended, especially at long rage. The original intent was to make this weapon effective at medium to close range, hence the adjustment to the recoil. The change also means that player should find it more difficult to auto fire and still be able to laser enemies at long distances.
