It's time to lock and load as Apex Legends Season 2 is officially live. The newest season comes with a rather large update, which also adds a number of balance changes for weapons and legends, among other things. So what's new for Season 2?
For starters, Apex Legends is upping the excitement by offering players who play the new season with:
- Season 2 stat trackers for each Legend
- Five Apex Packs
- The Wattson Hot Rod skin
Of course we already know that a Legends is joining the arena, and it's none other than Wattson. She is available for 12,000 Legends Token or 750 Apex Coins. Her skills include:
- PASSIVE: Spark of Genius
- Ultimate Accelerants fully charge Wattson’s ultimate.
- Standing near the Interception Pylon boosts Wattson’s tactical recharge rate.
- TACTICAL: Perimeter Security
- Create electrified fences by connecting nodes.
- Fences damage and slow enemies.
- ULTIMATE: Interception Pylon
- Place an electrified pylon that destroys incoming ordnance and repairs damaged shields [can place up to 3 Pylons at one time].
Another new addition is the airdrop weapon the L-Star EMG. Features of this weapon include:
- Fires large high-damage plasma projectiles
- Overheats if player fires for too long
- Comes with its own limited ammo supply
- Only available in Airdrops
One literal big change in Kings Canyon is the arrival of the Leviathans. A number of areas have been invaded by these creatures so have fun exploring.
The arrival of Season 2 also means that the Battle Pass is now available. The Battle Pass can be purchased for 950 Apex Coins. There is also the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,800 Apex Coins. In addition to the Battle Pass, the Bundle also comes with the Prince of Darkness Caustic skin and unlocks the next 255 levels. You can learn about the Battle Pass here.
Other new additional that arrived with Season 2 are:
- New Hop-Up: Disruptor Rounds
- Increased damage to shielded targets
- Compatibility: Alternator / RE-45
- New Hop-Up: Hammerpoint Rounds
- Increased damage to unshielded targets.
- Compatibility: P2020, Mozambique.
- New Attachments: Energy Mags
- Increases magazine capacity.
- Increases reload speed at rare and above.
- Compatibility: Havoc, Triple Take, Devotion.
- Reduced default mag sizes on compatible weapons.
Players are also likely to notice the latest change to the Stats Page. Players can access this page by hovering over their name while in the Lobby and clicking it to inspect. The page shows players their overall account stats, as well as providing access to the stats for each season and Ranked Series.
The Apex Legends team revealed that they are awaiting feedback from players on what other stats they would like to see on the page. The team added that what is being introduced in this new season is just the beginning, and there are plans to continuously build on it. They went on to say that some of the known issues include having some stats that start counting for Season 2, but won’t account for progress before that. The team is currently looking into future improvements in order to retroactively update these areas.
