It's a welcome surprise to see Behomia Interactive's 2013 tactical shooter ARMA 3 back in the headlines again, this time with a teaser for an upcoming new expansion. Like the teaser says, "none of us were expecting this..."
In the newest teaser trailer from Bohemia Interactive, we now know that a new expansion to ARMA 3 is coming our way. Of course, that's all we know - at least until the official reveal dated for May 23. Until then, it's anybody's guess what we're up against, but since it's ARMA 3, we can't help but get excited.
Armed Assault 3, or ARMA 3 as it is so lovingly called by its community of dedicated gamers, is a tactical realism-oriented shooter that came out all the way back in 2013. Since then, developer Bohemia Interactive has released a ton of content for the game, including numerous DLCs, weapon packs, missions, and even full-fledged expansions. The game's first expansion, titled Apex, came out in 2016. The most recent update to the game, which came out last April 29, is called "Global Mobilization", and features a full-length campaign set in Cold War Germany. This DLC was one of the largest ones to date, and includes 42 new vehicles, three new factions, 21 new weapons (including new variants of existing weapons), and 17 new multiplayer scenarios for players to enjoy. If that's just a "DLC", then we can't wait to see what Bohemia Interactive has in store for its next full-fledged expansion.
Will it be a brand-new story? Will it reveal an all-new location? Will it feature a full-length campaign, complete with full voice acting, new locations, new characters and personalities? Will it include new game modes? Right now, there aren't any details regarding what Bohemia Interactive has up their sleeves, but Player. One will make sure to be there when the official announcement goes live, so stay tuned!
