Many fans despise him, but John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn is one of my favorite characters of all CW's DC Comics shows. It could just be Barrowman’s charm, but Merlyn has a way of slithering his way through any tough situation. He’s trolled the Green Arrow since Season 1, and now, he’ll creep around the cast of CW’s other three shows including The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.
Like Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold, Merlyn has been promoted to a series regular on all of DC’s CW shows, according to TV Line . This strongly hints that both characters will play a large role in this year’s 4-way crossover event planned for December. It’s interesting because both started off as villains, but have their moments where their good side overpowers their villainous impulses.
When The Flash induced the “Flashpoint” arc in the comics, Caption Cold became Central City’s biggest hero. Could this be Merlyn’s fate in the alternate “Flashpoint” timeline as well?
