Released on September 6, 2024, Astro Bot is a 3D platform game developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The release of the game is in celebration of PlayStation's 30th anniversary.

The third game in the Astro Bot series, the 2024 release is a sequel to Astro's Playroom, which was released in 2020. Like the previous games in the series, Astro Bot puts you in control of a small robot named—you guessed right—Astro Bot.

Astro Bot's goal is to rescue hundreds of other bots scattered across 80 levels of gameplay. These 80 levels are spread across six galaxies and 50 planets.

4.8 Stars on Google Reviews

As the game is only available for the PlayStation 5, we won't be able to talk about Steam reviews like we typically do in our review roundups. However, gamers have much to say about Astro Bot as is over at Google Reviews, where the game has a 4.8 rating as of writing.

"This game is highly polished, extremely fluid and incredibly nostalgic," Google user Jayden Ordner said in a review. "The throwbacks to platformer games such as Banjo Kazooie to me are palpable in the design and sense of discovery within this game."

"It's a game that just feels so cool to be in, each world has such a cool sense of discovery and nostalgia to it - supported so well by a really great soundtrack, including numerous songs that have been stuck in my head for multiple days now," Ordner added. "I genuinely wouldn't want to miss a gem like this."

"This game is highly addictive and fun," Blerd Static said in a separate review. "I thought I would only play an hour, and I put in eight hours instead."

Blerd Static shared in addition, "I bought this because I was feeling down and wanted to play something light-hearted. I got so much more."

"I couldn't be happier with Astro Bot," user Ember (Em) shared. "I've played Astro's Playroom, and if you have as well, you'll know how good the graphics are and how amazing it feels."

Ember (Em) revealed, "Well, I have news: Astro Bot is 10 times better."
