If you've been playing Breath of the Wild for the past couple of weeks, then you will know that there are many legendary treasures hidden in the vast land of Hyrule. Previously, we shared guides regarding where to find Link's classic Tunic, Cap, and Trousers as well as the location of the powerful Master Sword. But even if you have these items, you'll need to find one last thing to complete the set – the Hylian Shield. Here's where you can find it.

The Hylian Shield is hidden within the depths of Hyrule Castle, which is occupied by Calamity Ganon and a posse of tough goons. There are many ways to reach the underground dungeons of Hyrule Castle, but it looks like the most efficient way to enter is starting from the top of a pillar located on the southeastern side of the castle. Climb to the top and use your glider to fly over to the water towards the direction of the entrance of the castle. Once you're halfway there, change your trajectory towards the entrance underneath the castle.
This method is the best as there will not be a Guardian close to you when you land. If there's a Guardian close to you, it's highly recommended that you simply sprint to the dungeon entrance as soon as you land the glider to avoid a battle.
Once you reach the entrance, you'll find a chest. Be sure to take the loot, which is a valuable piece of diamond that can be sold for a lot of rupees. To the right of the chest is a passageway that has been blocked by some large rocks. Use your bomb to destroy the rocks and make your way to the West passage.
Now, take down the enemies and hop aboard a mine cart. To get it running, use Link's Stasis Rune and hit the cart forward. The cart will move forward once the Stasis effect expires. Keep doing this to keep the cart moving. Hope off the mine cart when the tracks end and continue your way down the path until you arrive at a doorway. Head left at the door and left again at the end of the hall.
A couple of the cells within the dungeon feature some monsters you can kill for loot. It's up to you whether the loot is worth it or if you want to move on and get that Hylian Shield. Finally, a large circular room is at the end of the corrider. Once inside, you'll see a giant pile of bones and the door behind you will close shut. Meet Stalnox, a troublesome skeleton boss you must take down. Use your arrows to shoot at its eyes to stun him.
Give Stalnox a couple wacks when he's down, but be ready to quickly back off the moment the giant skeleton gets back up. Stalnox is able to throw down a large amount of damage as soon as he's back on his feet. Keep attacking the eyeball until Stalnox is defeated. You will receive the Hylian Shield when you're victorious.
While the Hylian shield is by far the best in the game with superior durability and the highest parry rating in the game, it's not unbreakable like the Master Sword. If it breaks, you may purchase another Hylian Shield at Tarrey Town, a feature that is only unlocked when you successfully manage to acquire the first one using this method, or by using the Breath of the Wild Zelda amiibo.
