Marvel announced a new Captain Phasma miniseries at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando. Meant to bridge Phasma’s humiliation in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and her maybe-actually-being-a-good-character-this-time in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the 4-issue Star Wars: Captain Phasma miniseries will premiere this September.
Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) fired imaginations when she was revealed in the lead-up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But the actual movie left the elite, chrome stormtrooper mostly marginalized. At the end she gets dunked on: locked in a toilet by Finn right before Starkiller Base gets blown up.
Not much is known about the plot of Captain Phasma yet, though the announcement revealed that it will begin with her escape from the exploding Starkiller Base. Might it also explain how she gets her rumored spear?

Star Wars: Captain Phasma will be written by Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye) and Marco Chechetto, who wrote a similar miniseries set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Phasma will be drawn by Paul Renaud (X-Force). This is what Renaud’s artwork looks like:
But we haven’t seen any of his work from Star Wars: Captain Phasma yet, except first cover, revealed by Marvel as part of the announcement:
Hopefully Star Wars: Captain Phasma is the beginning of the character’s redemption and when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on Dec. 15 it will feature a Phasma worthy of that killer look.
