If you’ve been trying to help Jenny in her quest to find poor Uncle Yeti by playing Candy Crush Jelly Saga , then you’ve probably run into the inevitable soul-crushingly difficult level along the way. Thankfully, there are a couple easy tips and tricks you can use to make sure the Jelly Queen stays jealous of your candy stomping skills.

Choose Your Moves Wisely

King makes a lot of money from its Candy Crush franchise, and there’s a reason: When you’re one move away from victory and you just ran out of moves, $0.99 doesn’t seem so bad. Make sure to choose your moves wisely from the very beginning of each level and try to resist lining up less than four to five candies. It pays to plan ahead in Candy Crush Jelly Saga , and if you’re absolutely forced to waste a move by lining up only three candies at once, make sure it’s a strategic one.

While you’re at it, make sure to start at the bottom of the map and clear your way up instead of going for easy matches located near the top. You may or may not want to ignore the suggested moves as well, the consensus on the Internet seems to be that the suggested moves aren’t typically the best move you can make.

Difference Between Modes

Candy Crush Jelly Saga has two new modes, as well as some of the old favorites. Each one has a different challenge. In Spread the Jelly , you want to spread your jelly over the game board before you run out of moves. You can do this by matching candies that are on the existing pink jelly. Beat the Jelly Queen mode is similar, except that you’re fighting the Jelly Queen’s green jelly with your pink jelly. Whoever manages to coat the board completely in their jelly first wins.

In the Release the Pufflers game mode, your objective is to collect marshmallow Pufflers (more on Pufflers below) that are hiding underneath the frosting. You have to collect a certain number of Pufflers before you run out of moves, Make sure to keep in mind that if you only partially uncover a Puffler, it’ll move to a different area.

In the Beat Cupcake Carl game mode, you will also have to collect Pufflers like in the Release the Pufflers game mode, but you’ll be competing against Cupcake Carl while you do so.

In-App purchases and Gold Bars

In-App purchases are tempting in Candy Crush Jelly Saga, but try to resist, because the prices can stack up. You can get 50 free Gold Bars, which are traded in for lives, boosters and extra moves, by previously having played one of the earlier Candy Crush games before you install Candy Crush Jelly Saga.

Otherwise, you’re looking to pay $0.99 for extra lives, $0.99-$1.99 for extra moves, $1.99 for a Lollipop Hammer, $0.99 for 10 Gold Bars and $4.99 for 50 Gold Bars.

Special Candy

Special candy is the key to success in Candy Crush Jelly Saga, and especially in the Beat the Jelly Queen game mode. If you match four candies in a row, a striped candy will be created that clears a full line, while if you match five in a row, a spotted candy will be created that clears all candies of the same color. If you manage to five in a T-shape, a wrapped candies will be created that will explode and take out any candies within its range. By matching six or more candies, a glass candy will be created that can change the color of any candies it is later matched with.

Special candies are incredibly useful in Beat the Jelly Queen mode and Beat Cupcake Carl mode. When you create a special candy in those game modes, the Jelly Queen and Cupcake Carl will become stunned, plus you’ll be able to get an extra turn. If you manage to make three special candies in a row, you’ll unleash a power move on your opponent that will create an explosion revealing Pufflers.

Pufflers

Pufflers are new to Candy Crush Jelly Saga, and are insanely useful. Pufflers hide in the frosting and don’t want to be found, but if you manage to set them free, success and fortune are destined to come your way. To find Pufflers, make sure to adopt a strategy of clearing the frosting first, before focusing on your spreading your jelly across the board.

Fish

Fish occur when you match four candies together in a 2-by-2 square. The Fish then wiggle around the board, spreading jelly wherever they go. Keep in mind that the Fish target bits of frosting, which means there is a higher likelihood of the Fish managing to nab a Puffler the less frosting there is on the board.

Boosters

Boosters are an important part of winning in Candy Crush Jelly Saga. There are three types of boosters available: the Lollipop Hammer, the Striped Lollipop Hammer and the Color Bomb Hammer.

Lollipop Hammers can be used to destroy any pesky candies , of any color, that seem to be ruining your life, while the Striped Lollipop Hammer is used to create an explosion that goes vertically and horizontally from where you select to place it. This clears all the candies in the lines that it travels.

Last but not least, the Color Bomb Hammer booster destroys all the candies of the same color that you choose to use it on.

Candy Crush Jelly Saga is currently available for download for iOS , Android and Windows.
