Huawei, the Chinese cell phone manufacturer that sold more than 100 million phones in 2015, is using CES 2016 as a launchpad for its latest smartphone - the Mate 8. Huawei hopes to take a bite out of Apple by increasing its presence in the U.S. market. Because despite the obscurity in the U.S., Huawei has become the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
“A few years ago, nobody knew Huawei,” said Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer business group during the Mate 8 event in Las Vegas.
