Winter is coming to Clash Royale! In sneak peeks that showed up on Reddit and the official Clash Royale forums, Supercell gave players a tiny peek at what the July update would bring – including a brand new arena!
Arena 8, dubbed Frozen Peak is bringing a delightful winter wonderland setting to the popular tower defense game. The arena includes an icy mountain and field that looks like a skating rink. Along the sides are warm glowing fires and there is snow falling through the air. Much coziness. Such ice. You enter the arena once you’ve reached 2300 trophies, placing it between the Royal and Legendary Arena.
In addition to announcing the new Arena, the folks at Supercell dropped another tidbit of about changes coming in the July update on Reddit. According to the post, players will soon be able to choose which Arena they play in when they participate in friendly battles. For those who have been stuck in the same arena forever and would love a change of scenery, this option is one that should make many Clash Royale fans happy.

Sneak Peek At What’s Coming In Clash Royale July Update
- Card Balancing Changes: Earlier in the week Supercell announced balancing changes that are coming July 4th. The changes affect 10 cards, 9 of which are receiving upgrades and only one getting downgraded. Complete details on those changes can be found here.
- New Tournaments For All: Supercell is working to make the Clash Royale community even stronger by providing a way for anyone to start or participate in in-game tournaments. While the exact date those changes are coming haven’t been revealed we’re guessing it’ll fall in line with the July 4th card balances. Supercell put together an extensive rundown of how the in-game tournaments work and why they created them. You can read about those, here.
- UI Design Changes – With the addition of tournaments and the new arena, Supercell will be rearranging items inside of each tab a bit. They will be adding a separate tournament tab while also moving TV Royale to the middle screen or battle tab.
- Four New Cards: Based on a video preview of the new arena, it appears there will be four new cards added in the new update. On Saturday morning, Supercell gave a second Sneak Peek on Reddit with two of the four new cards pictured -- Ice Spirit (common) and Bowler (epic). Then later Saturday afternoon they added a third sneak peak with the last two cards coming in the update - The Lumberjack (legendary) and The Log (legendary)
- Five New Achievements: Clash Royale currently has only 5 achievements you can earn but in another video preview it appears the number has increased to 10.
- New Battle Deck Info: Your player profile will show your last used Battle Deck from any battle (which won't necessarily be the one you've currently got selected).
