Developer Remedy took it to Twitter to announce the first DLC expansion for Control called The Foundation, which will be releasing on March 26. Along with the tweet, Remedy also shared a short teaser for the DLC, but it doesn't tell you much about the expansion itself. As for what we definitely know, players will continue Jesse Faden's journey and her search for the FBC's head of operations, Helen Marshall.
It is unclear whether or not The Foundation will be limited time PS4 exclusive. Even though the teaser did not say anything about the PS4 exclusivity, Remedy mentioned last year that Control's first trailer would be available on the PS4. If that turns out to be true then The Foundation will be a PS4 exclusive for some time.
However, the official Xbox Twitter account responded to Remedy's tweet, implying that the expansion will not be held back. With so little information, all we can do is speculate on the matter until Remedy issues an official statement on the expansion's exclusivity.
Given the grand success that Control has achieved, fans are more than excited to jump back into a world of telekinesis, levitation, and other abilities. Therefore, it will be nice if Remedy clarifies this lingering doubt. If Xbox and PC gamers learn at the last minute that the expansion is going to be a limited time PS4 exclusive, it could end with some angry folks.
Even if the expansion turns out to be a PS4 exclusive, fans on other platforms will definitely want to steer clear of social media to avoid spoilers.
Control came out last year and has garnered huge acclaim for its innovative gameplay, storytelling, and visual fidelity. Many people even claimed that Control was Remedy's best work to date. And the developer only wants to offer more mindblowing experiences with the upcoming DLC.
