Hold on to your butts because The Division will release its first Incursion event, called Falcon Lost, on April 12. Before that, Ubisoft has just shared two teaser screenshots to give us a sneak peek.
An Incursion is specifically designed for squad play among high level-players and is essentially The Division's version of a raid. From the looks of the images, the new area looks massive and extremely intense. To make things even more interesting for the players, the missions will not have checkpoints, which means a "No Respawn Alert" will prompt from the very beginning.
Via Gamespot, players are recommended to equip level 31 and up gear, which goes to show just how daunting an Incursion challenge is. In fact, lead designer Matthias Karlson and lead economic designer Andrada Gregiuc revealed during an interview with IGN that even they have not completed Falcon Lost. Wow.
“Incursions are our most difficult and most highly rewarding challenges in the game,” said Karlson. “With that degree of challenge we need to match that with rewards. It’s going to be the toughest thing you can do but also the source of the coolest stuff.”
So what's the point of taking on an Incursion event, other than a death wish? Should you successfully complete it, it will yield some of the best weapons and gear in the game. A special weekly reward will be handed for beating an Incursion. Of course, some very solid weapons and gears can still be gained from grinding the mission over and over.
