You can finally buy a LEGO tentacle monster.
No, but really, the big scoop here, courtesy of Marvel Toy News, is LEGO is making a Doctor Strange-themed set that ties into the upcoming movie! Although the set was first displayed at the London Toy Fair in January, we're only now getting our first glimpse at what may be one of this year's most popular toys.
Update: The photo of the LEGO Dr. Strange set has been removed at the request of LEGO.
The set includes three minifigures: Doctor Strange, Baron Mordo, and Wong. But let's address the elephant in the room, or in this case, the red tentacle monster coming out of that wormhole: what does this mean for the movie? Could we be seeing that angry squid as one of the antagonists? There's definitely precedent for a LEGO set spoiling a scene from a movie - just take a look at this Giant-Man airport set, first leaked before Captain America: Civil War.
It's important to note, though, that this doesn't always happen. For example, Iron Man and Captain America have yet to face off against Thanos in outer space with their Quinjet. Still, the possibilities of this set are fascinating: what other Doctor Strange sets are Marvel planning? Does the doctor really have that horrible of an eye for interior decorating? And, most importantly, just what is that tentacle monster doing in the Sanctum Sanctorum?
We don't have a release date yet for this amazing set, but considering Doctor Strange comes out November 4, 2016, expect this set to hit stores a few weeks before that.
