Most open-world RPG fans and video gamers in general will most likely know about "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," which is considered one of the best games in history.

The game has one of the richest and most engaging gameplay in the genre and was made even more popular thanks to its modding capabilities.

"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" also features a ton of items, including powerful weapons that let you slay the various creatures you encounter.

There are many different types of weapons to choose from, but there are quite a few that stand out due to how insanely powerful they are. This guide lists six of the best weapons in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and how to get them for yourself.

1. Bloodscythe & Soulrender

The Bloodscythe and Soulrender are a pair of scimitars that deal 13 unmodified damage each and have very useful effects. This is that they absorb 15 Magicka and Health, lower armor, and lower Magic defense of a target on hit, according to Game Rant.

However, it is notable that the latter only works if players are dual-wielding both weapons together. To get these blades, you have to go to Gyldenhul Barrow and look for them beside the remains of the late pirate king, Haknir Death-Brand.

2. Zephyr

If you prefer to stay at a distance while defeating your enemies in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," then the Zephyr bow is a great option.

This weapon deals 12 unmodified damage and fires about 30% faster than other bows while also having the benefit of not needing to be charged.

With higher damage potential than other bows, the Zephyr bow's main drawback is that its high rate of fire means you will burn through your arrows much more quickly. Katria tells you that her bow is located within Arkngthamz.

3. Dragonbane

Players who have difficulty slaying dragons should opt to use the Dragonbane, which is very useful against these scaly creatures.

This blade deals between 10 and 14 points of base damage but will deal 10 points of additional shock damage to non-dragons and 20 to 40 more damage to dragons, Screen Rant said.

To get this extremely powerful katana, you need to travel to the Sky Haven Temple during the "Alduin's Wall" quest. The weapon itself can be found lying alongside a full set of Blades armor.

4. Ebony Blade

The Ebony Blade's base damage is not that great, but it more than makes up for it with a unique ability. This katana will gain the capacity to drain more health from its opponents for every trusted ally that you murder in cold blood.

You can kill up to 10 friends to maximize the effects of this powerful weapon that maxes out at 30 points of health absorption on hit.

To get the Ebony Blade, go underneath Dragonsreach during "The Whispering Door" quest. You have to be at least level 20 and complete the "Dragon Rising" quest.

5. Blade of Woe

This particular dagger in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" has a base damage of 12 that has an effect of absorbing 10 Health with every hit. This makes it very useful for sustained battles to help you survive longer, according to The Gamer.

To get the Blade of Woe, you can steal it from Astrid of the Dark Brotherhood in Falkreath if you have high enough stealth skills. If you don't have the necessary requirements, you can also get it as a reward from Astrid after completing the "With Friends Like These" quest.

6. Molag Bal

The Molag Bal mace was named after a Daedric Prince who loved to create chaos and hurt innocent people. This weapon deals 25 damage to both Stamina and Magicka. On top of this, if you are able to defeat an enemy within three seconds, they will drop a soul gem.

If you want this powerful weapon for yourself, you will have to collect the soul of Logrolf the Willful in Boethiah. This means you have to complete "The House of Horrors" quest.
