Final Fantasy XIV has launched the annual Moonfire Faire event, Eorzea’s summer festival for all to enjoy. The Moonfire Faire has been a part of Final Fantasy XIV since the launch of A Realm Reborn, making it an event players look forward to every year. Stormblood is not required in order to participate.

The festival begins on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 3 a.m. EDT. Adventurers over level 30 can start the celebrations by heading to the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and speaking to the NPC below:

The green-haired, onion-bulb-coiffed Lalafell named Mayaru Moyaru triggers the quest. He’s located in the plaza right in front of the Maelstrom headquarters. From there, players can enjoy a series of FATEs scattered around Costa del Sol which provide Faire vouchers. These Faire vouchers can be exchanged for different rewards, including new housing items, gear, emotes and more.

Here is the full list of rewards available from the Moonfire Faire:

Items

  • Evercold Shaved Ice (6 tokens each)

  • Moonfire Faire (6 tokens each)

  • Hyper Rainbow Z Orchestrion Roll

The “Moonfire Faire” item is a wall poster, while the shaved ice item sits on a tabletop in your home and provides as much shaved ice as you want.

Armor

  • Faire Joi

  • Faire Kohakama

  • Faire Zori

The armor is similar to the Shisui set but is enabled for dying, so if you don’t like the color it comes in, you can change it to whatever you want. Unfortunately, the gloves and head are not part of the festival rewards. The top, pants and shoes are 1 token total.

The Hyper Z Rainbow music is the super-fun posing ranger’s theme, which you can hear below. Warning: may induce intense feelings about the power of friendship, fighting, justice and love:

Additionally, you are now able to purchase the Haddock crafting item from the Festive Fisher NPC, which was first made available two years ago and is required to complete the Battered Fish recipe for Culinarians. There is a repeatable level 5 quest that lets you grind Faire Vouchers by making as many Battered Fish as you can.

Need a hand with those Battered Fish? Well, if you have Sahagin reputation, you can purchase olive oil and table salt materials at the Sahagin beast tribe vendor in Western La Noscea (you can unlock Sahagin daily quests starting at level 44) and either gather Popoto or purchase them off the marketboards.

Certain items available during previous events can be purchased via Moonfire Faire vendors as well. Seasonal quests cannot be completed once the event ends on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. EDT, so make sure to grind as many FATEs as you need to grab the items you’re hoping for. You can check out an example of previous event items here in last year’s Moonfire Faire announcement.

Square Enix has also recently confirmed a new season of The Feast, Final Fantasy XIV ’s PvP arena, which is scheduled to release shortly. You can check out all the details about the many changes to PvP made in Stormblood here, as well as check out a list of new rewards and find out when to tune in for the Culling Time PvP special broadcast here.

Will you be enjoying the Final Fantasy XIV Moonfire Faire? How do the rewards compare to previous years? Are there other special events you prefer, or are you just counting the days til patch 4.06 gives us that piping fresh PvP? Feel free to talk about Final Fantasy XIV ’s Moonfire Faire and other festivals in our comments section below.
