The North American box art for Final Fantasy XV is now out, riding hard on the “boys and their toys go on a Life-Changing Road Trip” motif. The box art will be the same for both Xbox One and PS4. Shockingly for a Final Fantasy game, the box art doesn’t feature even a single crystal. I’m sure the game itself will make up for this tragic lack.
The box art for Final Fantasy XV will actually be reversible, with a more relaxed bit of art on the other side, depending how hype you’re feeling as you stare at your “Day One Edition” of Final Fantasy XV.
The front piece of art features the four Boys with their Toys ready to engage, as if surprised by some rampaging beast or yet more numbers of mechanical soldiers.
The back piece of art features the team unwinding as the sun goes down. Ignis and Prompto appear to be manning the campfire, while Noctis sips a beverage and leans on his Batmobile and Gladiolus stares off into the horizon, Christian rock album cover style.
Final Fantasy XV is also rated “T” for Teen, in case you’d missed that info at any point. As for gameplay length, director Hajime Tabata has stated that the game will take anywhere from 40 to 200 hours of gameplay, depending on your style.
"In terms of clearing the main story, we're anticipating about 40-50 hours of gameplay," said Tabata during Square Enix’s E3 livestream. "At the very least there will be 40 hours of content to enjoy. But there are a lot of side quests and other extra things. With just the extra stuff alone, we're looking at maybe 100 hours of gameplay. So if you count all of that, maybe we're looking at around 200 hours of gameplay."
