We were excited to see Microsoft deliver true 4K on its new and powerful Xbox One X console, but awesome stuff apparently comes at a cost.
A screenshot from the Microsoft Store via GTPlanet revealedForza Motorsport 7 will require 100GB of approximate storage space to install. What's more, considering future updates and DLCs, that number is only expected to get bigger.
AAA games demand greater and greater amounts of storage ever since HD games were introduced on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But as we embark on a new era of 4K, owning just three or four new games could already max out a standard 500GB current-gen console. Imagine the inconvenience of not only swapping discs, but also having to uninstall and reinstall games from your vast collection of six or seven titles.
Although the PlayStation 4 Pro is still relatively new and the Xbox One X release date doesn't arrive until Nov. 7, this hard-drive storage dilemma probably isn't news to the console makers. It will be interesting to see if the new 4K console offerings will eventually come with trims beyond 1TB.
Forza Motorsport 7 arrives Oct. 3. Stay tuned as we learn more in the months ahead.
