‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers: Sansa’s Letter Analyzed, Will Turn The Battle Of Winterfell

In the most recent episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, “The Broken Man,” we watched as Sansa, Jon Snow and Davos Seaworth failed to rally a sizeable army to take back Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton. But Sansa sent a mysterious raven that may change the Stark’s fortune in the coming war. With some help from eagle-eyed redditors, we have partially unveiled the full text of the letter and can make a good guess as to who will arrive to save the Stark bacon when they ride on Winterfell with inferior numbers.

Here’s a close up of the letter from Game of Thrones Season 6 episode 7:

It’s so far proven impossible to read every word on the parchment, but here’s what we see in it:

“Now you have a chance to fulfill your…

Knights of the Vale are under your command. Ride for Winterfell…

… lend your aid and I shall see you are rewarded.”

It should be fairly obvious to whom Sansa’s raven flies. It seems she’s swallowed her pride and reached out to Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, who currently controls the army of the Vale. Though Littlefinger already planned on throwing young Lord Robin Arryn’s troops into the fray, Sansa refused his help and threatened to sic Brienne of Tarth on him.

So while the contents of the letter were left mysterious in the most recent episode of Game of Thrones we now know that the raven from Sansa represents a substantial capitulation on her part. She’s swallowing her pride to win the game of thrones. Episode 9 will show whether or not her gambit pays off.

Now the main question remaining is, “how will she reward Littlefinger?”
