Every time a new patch arrives in Hearthstone, it often means something big is happening. For Patch 23.6, all current Arena runs have ended, and a new Arena season has started.
So, the eligible card sets are going to rotate, which updates the Arena card pool with these sets:
- Core
- The Boomsday Project
- Descent of Dragons
- Forged in the Barrens
- United in Stormwind
- Fractured in Alterac Valley
- Voyage to the Sunken City
- Taverns of Time
It’s Back
Hearthstone players are surely surprised at the last one on the list, but it’s true. Taverns of Time is back in Arenas. Not only does it make a return but it also makes some adjustments to update the set to the current meta. One example is Murozond being removed from the set. There are a total of 28 cards that had their costs or stats adjusted.
Mercenaries Update
A new mercenary has been introduced, and it's Yogg-Saron (Legendary Caster). Details include:
- Old God
- 10/80 Maxed Stats
- Abilities:
- Lunatic Gaze 5 (Shadow): (Speed 2) Deal 15 damage to an enemy, or restore 15 Health to a friendly character. Randomly swap the Speeds of their Abilities.
- Mind Yoggle 5 (Shadow): (Speed 6) Give a friendly character +5 Attack this turn. They Attack a random enemy. Old Gods’ abilities Refresh (1) for each Attack so far this turn.
- Oh My Yogg 5 (Shadow): (Speed 15, Cooldown 15) Randomly use 5 other Abilities from Mercs in play with random targets.
- Equipment:
- Piercing Gaze 4: Lunatic Gaze does an extra 5 damage.
- Lash of Hysteria 4: Mind Yoggle gives an extra +5 Attack.
- Awakening Roar 4: Battlecry: Old Gods’ abilities Refresh (4).
Speaking of Yogg-Saron, there's also a new event where players are tasked with taking on madness itself. It features 10 special Tasks centering around the Old God Yogg-Saron. The event starts June 30, with two new event Tasks being unlocked on each of the first five days of the event. Completing all 10 tasks give players:
- Yogg-Saron Mercenary
- Random Golden Yogg-Saron Portrait
- Diamond Yogg-Saron Portrait
- 700 Mercenary Coins
