Let Mad Queen Cersei burn down King’s Landing! Game of Thrones Season 6 is gearing up to bring together all the loose ends during Sunday’s season finale. Hopefully we’ll get a large body count and a stroll down memory lane from Bran Stark.
First, let’s talk Cersei. In Bran’s vision, we saw a glimpse of the Mad King yelling “Burn them all” with a quick glimpse of wildfire. It seems the show hinted Cersei might carry out the Mad King’s plan in the season finale. Remember, Cersei is the protagonist in her own story. Her weakness has always been not seeing the big picture, and burning down King’s Landing is a temporary fix with huge consequences. Who knows if she’ll be successful, but she’s been up to something, so don’t count her out just yet.
Next, we have Daenerys Targaryen in Meereen. She has her army, ships and dragons to set sail to Westeros. She can easily take back King’s Landing and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her at least board the ships to Westeros. However, taking over a city and ruling over it are two different things, as Daenerys has learned the hard way. If she wants to keep King’s Landing, she’ll need allies.
Then we have Jon Snow and Sansa trying to unite the North. Sansa finally has taken control of Winterfell, but can’t seem to trust Jon Snow. It’s probably a good thing, considering all she’s experienced since she first left home. However, Jon and Sansa will have to find a way to work together because the Whitewalkers are not far away.
Speaking of Whitewalkers, Bran needs to come up with a plan to clean up the mess he made beyond The Wall. He better put his powers in overdrive and finally give us the Tower of Joy scene we’ve been waiting for to confirm R+L=J.
