The latest major content update for Insurgency: Sandstorm is now available. Update 1.11 or Operation: Warlord is packed with new stuff, including two SMGs, a new map, game mode, and so much more.
New Weapons
There are two new submachine guns introduced in Operation: Warlord. They are the P90 and the Vector, which can be used by the Insurgents and Security forces, respectively.
They are exclusive to the Advisor Class and you can further improve them by attaching Barrel, Optic, and other upgrades. They are known for their unique iron sights that may provide new lethal ways to combat.
In addition to new SMGs, the Point Shooting Grip is now available. This attachment improves your hip-fire accuracy, especially at close range. This attachment is only available on co-op modes though.
New Game Mode
Ambush is the game’s newest Versus Mode, where the objectives are to escort the VIP to the extraction point if you’re on the Security team or eliminate the VIP by ambushing their group when you are part of the Insurgents.
This new game mode will be available on the following maps:
- Power Plant
- Summit
- Refinery
- Ministry
- Gap
- Precinct
- Hillside
- Farmhouse
- Citadel
- Crossing
- Tell
- Hideout
If you completed this new game mode once, you will be granted the Sporty and Big Spender cosmetic sets.
New Map
Created with the Ambush game mode in mind, Gap is a new map filled with exposed rooftops, tight alleyways, and a lavish golden lobby, among other things, where the confrontation usually happens.
If you are on the Security team, you will extract the VIP while navigating through the tight alleyways as just mentioned. Gap is supported on the following game modes:
- Checkpoint Security
- Checkpoint Insurgents
- Outpost
- Survival
- Push Security
- Push Insurgents
- Frontline
