Apple is slated to introduce its next flagship iPhone 7 this fall. However, renowned Apple tipster, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo , warns that the next phone from Cupertino will not be a game-changer in the way iPhones were in the past. Could Apple suffer from "The Innovator's Dilemma?"
So far, rumors suggest the iPhone 7 will introduce a new design that will revisit a glass-backed body. Reports also claim that the upcoming flagship could also be the first iPhone with an OLED display. A patent also hints at a new dual-camera setup that features a telephoto lens. However, Kuo doubts the makeover will yield significant demand and anticipates a significant drop in iPhone sales this year.
Based on Kuo's graph, Apple's best case scenario for the year is 205 million in iPhone sales, which still represents a 12 percent year-on-year decline. A worst case scenario prediction reports Apple could sell as little as 190 million, an 18 percent drop.
Kuo has been regarded as one of the most reputable Apple analysts for years, so the latest report certainly holds weight amongst people that are invested in Apple. What are your opinions of Kuo's claims? Let us know in the comments below:
