During a meeting at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, WB held an information session on LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens . While The Force Awakens will play out very similarly to all the other LEGO games, there are a few major changes coming to The Force Awakens . The big changes include:

  • Blaster Battles - At times, players will find themselves stumbling into a massive group of enemies. When this happens, players can take cover behind nearby objects and pop out to pick off enemies one by one.

  • Multi-builds - In all previous LEGO games, players often found small piles of LEGO bricks that could be quickly built into something with the press of a button. Now, these piles can be built into multiple objects, creating new puzzles and branching paths.

  • Dogfights - Earlier LEGO games featured flying, but those sections were largely on rails with little player control. New segments in The Force Awakens lets players fly around in arenas, picking off enemies with style

There will be 18 levels over the course of the game, but only 11 of them will feature scenes from the movie. That means that seven of the levels will be set before the events of The Force Awakens . These prequel levels will provide additional insight into The Force Awakens and might even answer some of your burning Star Wars questions.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also feature five hub worlds. Like previous LEGO games, these hub worlds serve as a base for players to start missions and do other things like track progress and look at collectibles. The hub levels include Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller Base, D’Qar, and the Millennium Falcon.

Speaking of collectibles, there will be over 200 collectible and customizable LEGO minifigures to find while playing through The Force Awakens . Once you’ve found a minifigure, you can swap out parts and make all sorts of crazy mismatched characters. There are also 40 playable vehicles to collect as well as microfighters , which are like the gokarts of LEGO vehicles.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, and PC.
