LG announced its Mobile World Congress press conference in January, but now the manufacturer has confirmed that the LG G5 smartphone will be unveiled in Barcelona.
LG shared several posts via social medi a Wednesday evening, in particular a tweet with several locales in New York City. Pictured are the 5 train, 5th Avenue and a warning walking sign at the number five.
The LG G5 is expected to feature modular design as its standout feature. Rumors suggest the handset will have a detachable bottom, which would allow users to remove or add components, such as batteries or microSD cards. The LG G5 is also expected to feature a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, and may also take after the LG V10 with a dual-screen design as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, a 16-megapixel dual-lens camera and a fingerprint scanner.
LG will be competing with Samsung and Huawei, which are also hosting press conferences Feb.21.
