Developer Piranha Games is going to launch a new update for MechWarrior Online: Solaris 7 later today. Patch 1.4.261.0 features new content, including a new heavy mech and map.

The Crusader is coming to MechWarrior Online: Solaris 7, the first mech chassis to be added in the last three years. Players who pre-order the Crusader package before July 19 at 2:59 p.m. EST will receive some Early Adopter rewards, such as:

  • 1 Hanging Item (x5) with a 5% C-Bills Boost
  • 500 GSP
  • 6.5 Million C-Bills
  • 3,000 Mech Credits (MC)

Patch 1.4.261.0 also features a new map called the Vitric Station. This map was created by Francois, level designer for MechWarrior Online: Solaris 7. It is based on the Faction Play map Vitric Forge and has plenty of ramps and high ground.

Patch 1.4.261.0 is going to implement some weapon balancing changes as well, which you can read below:

ENERGY WEAPONS
  • Snub Nose PPC
    • Increased pinpoint damage to 10 (from 8.5)
    • Increased damage to each adjacent component to 2.5 (from 1.5) (aka., 2.5 + 10 + 2.5)
    • Reduced minimum heat penalty limit to 3 (from 4)
  • ER PPC
    • Increased heat penalty multiplier to 7 (from 4)
BALLISTIC WEAPONS
  • Heavy Gauss Rifle
    • Increased ammo per ton to 7 (from 5)
  • Light Machine Gun
    • Increased range to 360m (from 250m)
    • Increased max range to 540m (from 500m)
    • Reduced crit damage multiplier to 3.0 (from 9.0)
    • Reduced 1x, 2x, 3x critical hit chances to 25%, 14%, 3% (from 31%, 17%, 4%)
    • Reduced spread to 0.16 (from 0.25)
    • (NOTE: Machine gun family are hitscan weapons. Projectiles are visual effects.)
  • Clan Light Machine Gun
    • Increased range to 360m (from 250m)
    • Increased max range to 540m (from 500m)
    • Reduced crit damage multiplier to 2.33 (from 7.0)
    • Reduced 1x, 2x, 3x critical hit chances to 25%, 14%, 3% (from 28%, 15.5%, 3.5%)
    • Reduced spread to 0.23 (from 0.33)
MAP UPDATES
  • Viridian Bog
    • Removed floating assets
    • Moved Theta capture point in the new zone
  • Tourmaline Desert
    • Grouped Skirmish spawn points together, similar to Conquest and Assault modes
  • Caustic Valley
    • Removed fog completely
    • Increased cover for both spawn points
    • Added new central structure to provide cover for Domination

The game will undergo maintenance at 1 p.m EST and is expected to end at 4 p.m.

MechWarrior Online: Solaris 7 is available on PC.
