For the first New on Steam feature for 2025, the spotlight is on a horror game that can be played solo or by up to eight people. It's set underwater and who knows what kind of horrors can be found there?
What's new on Steam? It's none other than "Murky Divers."
New on Steam: 'Murky Divers'
First-person horror game "Murky Divers" was released on December 13, 2024. The game is developed by Embers and published by Oro Interactive and Drillhounds.
As previously mentioned, the game can be played by one up to eight players. Your goal in this game is essentially to clean up. But what are you cleaning up?
You will have to remove any and all evidence of the failed experiments that a company did in their abandoned underwater labs. That means you'll have to remove all corpses you find.
But are you and your companions really the only ones in the water?
System Requirements
The following are the minimum system requirements in order to run this game:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-3330 3.0 GHz, AMD FX-8300 3.3 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 or Radeon HD 7970
- Storage: 4 GB available space
On the other hand, the following are the recommended system requirements:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5 GHz, AMD Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5 GHz
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070TI or AMD Radeon RX 580
- Storage: 6 GB available space
Early Steam Reviews
As of writing, "Murky Divers" has more than 3,000 user reviews on Steam. These reviews have been categorized by Steam as "Very Positive."
"I personally love this game and here's why: The gameplay doesn't get repetitive even after a while especially due to the sheer amount of different interiors," user Adamko_10 said in a Steam review.
There, however, seems to be a lot of room for improvement. User Andriss said in a separate review that "This game is not very new player friendly.
"The game doesn't explain much on how to do specific tasks in the submarine, so you're essentially going in blind (and potentially getting caught by the police before you can even anchor for the first time)," Andriss explained.
