A UI bug in No Man's Sky suggests a new feature that could be included in the second part of the massive Worlds update that aims to completely overhaul the game's universe. Hello Games, Steam

A new UI bug seen in No Man's Sky suggests a possible new feature that could come with the game's Worlds Part 2 update.

Developer Hello Games recently launched the massive patch that overhauled No Man's Sky's nearly infinite universe. This is the first time that an update for the game has been split into multiple parts and hints at the sheer size of the content that it contains.

No Man's Sky's Worlds Update

The bug in question is a new fifth stellar metal that has become available to select in the menu and is only labeled as "UI_Purple."

Each of the game's four-star system types features its own distinct stellar metals. The bug suggests that there is a new star system category coming soon.

For now, what exactly is included in the second part of the Worlds update remains a mystery but the popularity of what has been introduced so far gives high hopes to the community.

No Man's Sky 5.0 update is already out but is not yet available for Xbox and Nintendo Switch users, according to GameRant.

It is considered to be one of the biggest updates that the game has ever received since it was released.

The Worlds update focuses on overhauling the game's entire universe, including planetary environments, and introduces new types of creatures, plants, and environments.

On top of these new additions, the Worlds update also brings new technologies that introduce enhanced weather to planets along with waves and tides to oceans.

Players got to take a look at the new features in a deep dive video featuring No Man's Sky developer and Hello Games founder Sean Murray.

In the video, Murray revealed that the studio incorporated technology that it used to develop its upcoming game, Light No Fire, into No Man's Sky. He said that the Worlds Part 1 update completely refreshes the latter's universe, said IGN.

Various New Features

Hello Games was able to develop new water technology that creates waves and reflections to make the game's oceans feel "completely new."

It was also revealed that ships can now land on water and planets now have wind patterns while the waves are dynamic and react to the weather.

The World's Part 1 update also introduces a new galactic bug hunt as a community expedition that urges players to become part of the Liquidator Vanguard. This will also introduce new trophies and organic armor parts for players to work on.

The studio also made Walker battles have detailed combat UI and the ability to see and target vulnerabilities. The game now also lets players rename any discovered system, planet, flora, fauna, and minerals to whatever they want.

All of these features, along with many more, make now a great time for players to go back and play No Man's Sky to experience the overhauled universe, according to Forbes.

No Man's Sky is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, macOS, and iPadOS
