The Overwatch April event speculation is about to come to a halt that would make Orisa proud. PlayStation France leaked/posted early the following video showing off an Omnic uprising mode, seemingly titled Insurrection, scheduled to run from April 11 until May 1 (at least that’s what the message at the end of the trailer says.) Scattered throughout the Overwatch April event trailer, which seems to sell some sort of Omnic uprising insurrection horde mode thing, there are a number of special skins on display. You don’t need to be fluent in French to glean there is some kind of us vs them dynamic played out when the skins are presented at the end of the French Overwatch video. Here’s the seven skins being prominently displayed, plus an extra Torbjorn skin we grabbed during the end of the video when it plugs the more than 100 collectibles coming in the event.
Nothing official has appeared on the U.S. Overwatch side of things yet, although if the Insurrection Omnic uprising event runs April 11 - May 1, odds are we’ll be getting word very, very soon. (Maybe it has something to do with the current server issues?) Regardless, I’m pretty hyped for the event. The Junkenstein horde mode thing during Halloween was really fun, and I’ve been stockpiling coins to make some skin purchases. Although, I must admit, there wasn’t a whole lot on display in this French Overwatch Insurrection trailer that got me really excited. The blue suits? I dunno. Looks a little X-Men cartoon ripoff to me. But if Torbjorn is any indication it’s likely there will be multiple skins out there not even in the trailer, giving me hope for the badass Symmetra skin she so desperately needs.
