In a video earlier this week, Jeff Kaplan, game director of Overwatch, announced that Competitive Play is coming and that you can earn special rewards, like golden guns. Pictures of these shiny new toys leaked last night from the Korean Private Testing Realm and were posted to Inven . There looks to be a new tab in the Hero Gallery, where you can purchase these weapons for a purple currency not yet identified.

There’s no guarantee that these are legit; everything on the PTR is subject to change. Still, these do seem very authentic and look amazing. Heroes like Bastion and D.Va who have their guns attached to their models aren’t turning all sparkly though, only the actual guns on the model are golden. The ammo itself doesn't look to be changing either; Junkrat isn’t spending the extra money to turn all his grenades golden.

Here's a good look at the rest of the weapons.

We also got a good look at what Competitive Mode will look like. Like other games with ranked modes like League of Legends , you will need to play 10 games before being placed in a rank. There are 100 ranks in total with one being the highest. The ranked seasons will be three months long, with the first season ending Aug. 18.

I know I’ll never see these golden guns if they are tied to Competitive Play; I love Overwatch but I’m absolutely terrible.

'Overwatch' May Not Be Perfect, But It's Damn Near Close
Overwatch doesn't care if you've ever tried an FPS before, it holds your hands and makes you feel okay while you shoot rocket launchers, icicles and sound waves.
