The Paragon roster will expand again on Tuesday, three weeks after Greystone charged onto the battlefield, but The Fey will bring a decidedly different talent pool to Paragon than we’ve seen from the last few additions to the game. And those who’ve been holding out for a new support caster finally got their wish, based on the description from Epic Games creative director Steve Superville.
According to Superville, The Fey will specialize in crowd control and player harassment (in-lane), making the nature spirit an effective backup for whichever carry she’s paired with. Most of The Fey’s abilities reflect this focus, with Untamed Growth doling out AOE damage over time, making it harder for opposing heroes to farm creeps safely. Bramble Patch allows The Fey to slow the movement speed of opposing heroes and Harvest Nettles allows her to deal a bit of damage while also providing a mana refund for successful hits. The Fey’s ultimate ability, Fly Trap, captures nearby heroes and pulls them into close proximity, setting up easy combo attacks for your team.
Obviously, like most support characters, The Fey won’t be a damage sponge. So it’ll take careful positioning, and knowledge of your allies’ abilities, to get the most out of Paragon ’s latest support character. But the game’s newest combatant should at least provide some new strategic options the next time you step foot in Agora.
