Fans of Phantasy Star Online 2 will be happy to know that the game’s expansion, New Genesis, will be available on June 9.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will mark the 20th anniversary of the PSO series and according to the official website, it is a massive expansion, to say the least.
PSO2:NGS was in closed beta for quite some time but it will not be long until you can experience the newest features. A recent official tweet also confirmed that the update is coming next, but the game will be brought down for maintenance. So if you are already playing the base version, you have to settle your affairs first before it starts.
What You Can Expect
The New Genesis expansion is offering exciting new stuff and making certain changes. Here is a brief rundown:
Create gorgeous characters with the new and improved graphics engine. You have the power to change almost every aspect of your character's appearance, including the luster of their skin, among others.
Skill rings, boost items, furnishings, consumable items and enhancements, and some materials that are obtained in PSO2 can no longer be used in PSO2:NGS. This is because there are changes to the in-game elements, making them incompatible with the new version.
All wearable items from the original PSO2 game can also be used in NGS.
All titles that you have acquired in the base game will not be carried over to the expansion
Item packs for the base game and the expansion are different. Those that you’ve acquired in PSO2 cannot be acquired or used in NGS.
Storage information is shared between the base game and expansion, except for Alliance Storage and Meseta Storage.
Items found in PSO2: NGS can only be sold to people who play the same expansion as you.
Any weapons gained in PSO2 will be changed when they’re carried over to the NGS.
Maximum item rarity in the expansion will be four stars.
Equipment requirements for all classes will be changed according to the new weapon classifications.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you excited about the new update?
