Niantec has opened up the field test beta for Pokémon Go in Australia and New Zealand, and it was only a matter of time before leaked gameplay footage appeared online. Now, we have over eight minutes of gameplay to look through.

While information from the Japanese field tests has come out in the past , not to mention some footage shown at SXSW , this is a great look at what Pokémon Go will bring when it eventually comes out.

Here’s the eight-minute leaked gameplay footage of Pokémon Go from Game Previews .

In the leaked Pokémon Go gameplay footage, you see character creation and what the mobile game looks like.

In the past beta tests, players don’t have a starter Pokémon, and the Australian/New Zealand also doesn’t have starter Pokémon. Also, the capture system in Pokémon Go is different from other Pokémon games.

Instead of weakening a wild Pokemon by battling, you simply have to flick a Pokeball using your finger on the screen and hope it hits the Pokémon .

Catching Pokémon earns your trainer experience and when you level up, you are gifted more Pokeballs.

Gyms are also present in the latest Pokémon beta with your trainer having to choose to join either the Red, Blue or Yellow team. You need to help your team take and maintain control of Gyms.

You need to drop off a Pokémon into a Gym and other trainers will have to battle your Pokémon when they arrive at the designated Gym. They will leave your party until they lose in battle.

Players will also find items and even Pokémon eggs in everyday places like rocks and stores.

Battles are shown in the leaked footage and it’s pretty hard to explain, except that the Pokémon battle on their own. More details on the battling will likely come out as we get closer to a release date.
