Pokémon Go has begun its previously announced Japanese field tests and with it, information and footage have begun to trickle in despite the best efforts of Niantec, who is handling the mobile game/app.
According to Nintendo Inquirer, Niantec has banned players who reveal information about the beta online. But as is the case with the Internet, players have begun to upload screenshots and footage of Pokémon Go.
Sam Clark has uploaded the first moments of the Pokémon Go beta, which includes the trainer customization and the in-game menu.
Nintendo Inquirer has begun compiling a list of details revealed from player experiences during the Pokémon Go field tests and what was revealed in the game’s code. There’s a lot to take in and, not surprisingly, Pokémon Go changes up the mechanics of Pokémon capture and battles.
Here’s a short list of some of the biggest details revealed in the Pokémon Go field tests. To see more of the leaked details, check back to Nintendo Inquirer. Of course, this is still unofficial and all of these details may change when the final product is released.
Asseemed to be the case during the SXSW presentation , there are no battles against wild Pokémon, instead you simply catch them directly using Poké Balls.
Players receive a starter Pokémon, but players in the beta version don’t receive one.
There are three “teams” the player can join: Red, Blue or Yellow.
Only Pokémon from Gen 1 exist in the beta; this will likely expand with the final product.
Pokémon have different Natures, but differ from the main games. The ones found so far are: Stoic, Assassin, Guardian, Raider, Protector, Sentry and Champion.
Normal, Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are categorized as such in the beta.
