According to a study published by Survey Monkey, Pokémon Go is now the biggest mobile game in U.S. history. In its first 24 hours of release, Pokémon Go shot to the top of the app store and boasts more than 20 million peak daily active users within the United States. This eclipses Candy Crush Saga, Clash Royale and Slither.io.
What's more, as early as three days ago, Gizmodo reported that Pokémon Go is already bigger than Snapchat and Tinder. Sure, it's a profoundly addictive game, but there's no way users are spending more time on Pokémon Go than social media giants like Facebook or Twitter, right? Well, it has.
According to the latest figures published by SensorTower, the average daily time spent on Facebook is 22 minutes. Snapchat boasts an average daily usage of 18 minutes. Twitter, Instagram and Slither.io take in a respectable 17 minutes, 15 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively. Pokémon Go? 33 minutes 25 seconds. To put it in perspective, people are spending twice as much time on Pokémon Go than Instagram.
It's only the beginning for Pokémon Go and we're definitely excited to see the real impact the app can bring worldwide. Are you one of the many on board with Pokémon Go? Let us know in the comments below!
