The latest craze sweeping Australia and the United States is Pokémon Go, but some regions of the world have not received the game yet. Notably, Europe and Japan haven’t received the app on either iOS or Android, but a new report states that the mobile game will roll out in “a few days.”
In a Wall Street Journal report, the app will expand to regions like Europe, Japan and New Zealand this week to join Australia and the U.S., which have had the game since last Wednesday.
Of course, the regions that have not received Pokémon Go can always go through other means to download the game on iOS and Android, but we don’t recommend it due to safety risks.
The added regions will only increase Nintendo’s stock price, which has jumped 25 percent in two days. The app has also climbed to number one in both the App Store and Google Play Store.
WSJ also notes it “took less than a day from the introduction for Pokémon Go to become the most downloaded and highest-grossing app in the countries where it is available, according to market-data provider App Annie. Data firm SimilarWeb said Monday the app is about to surpass social-networking service Twitter among Android users in the U.S. as far as the number of daily active users.”
Pokémon Go is Nintendo’s second mobile app, following Miitomo, but is the first mobile game from the video game company.
Two more Nintendo mobile games are set to release before March 2017. They are Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing , pegged to be similar to their console counterparts and aimed at both hardcore and casual gamers.
