The Legendary Bird Pokémon are finally available to capture in Pokémon Go , but only for a short time. And while capturing these rare Pokémon is achievement enough, those who want to bring these behemoths to a local Gym may want to capture one that has some good IVs.
Pokémon Go already has an Appraisal Feature so trainers can figure out how strong their Pokémon are, but really figuring out how IVs stack up can be a difficult and time-consuming task.
Thankfully, the good folks over at the Silph Road subreddit have compiled a chart Pokémon Go players can easily access on their phones to figure out how strong any of the Legendary Pokémon will be before attempting a Raid Battle. This IV chart takes the CP of the Pokémon and determines how strong that Pokémon’s HP, Attack and Defense are.
Check out the IV chart for Lugia, Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos below.
Following the Pokémon Go Fest in Chicago , Lugia and Articuno were released in the game but the three Legendary Birds of Kanto are timed events. Articuno has stopped appearing in Pokémon Go as of July 31, with Moltres appearing from July 31 to Aug. 7. Zapdos will appear in-game from Aug. 7-14.
Lugia is still appearing in Pokémon Go and will likely remain until after Zapdos is removed.
We suggest going out and finding a Raid Battle to catch any of the Legendary Birds you don’t have. Then you can start to hunt for that elusive 100 percent IV Pokémon. Check out our Raid Battle guide for tips and tricks to getting the most out of battles against these Legendary Pokémon.
