Rainbow Six Siege's LATAM League 2020 stage two concluded its ninth playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. The LATAM League had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of two format.

The most exciting matchup for the ninth playday was between NiP and Furia. The first map was played on Consulate, which is an attacker-sided map with Thatcher banned. NiP’s roam strategy for the basement site, where NiP extends into admin and meeting, was pretty hard for Furia to clear. By the time Furia made it down to lobby, NiP had a 4v1 advantage, which allowed NiP to take the round with ease. NiP’s tellers and server hold were also pretty strong. NiP extended into Admin office with the help of operators like Smoke, unlike other teams who prefer to play in the basement and use Pulse for final denial. NiP was able to go 6-0 flawless on the defensive split, which meant the attacking half would be much easier. In the end, NiP was able to take the first map with a 7-1 scoreline.

The second map was played on Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map with Thatcher banned. Julio "Julio" Giacomelli got four insane kills while hiding behind the bomb chassis on Cash site, preventing the attackers from entering from Construction and Stocks at the same time. NiP managed to again go 6-0 flawless on the defensive half on Clubhouse. NiP didn’t show any new strategies, as the team was able to win their gunfights with ease. NiP ultimately won the second map with a flawless 7-0 score, with Julio clutching the final round in a 1v1 situation.

Another exciting match to watch was between Black Dragons and W7M Gaming. The first map was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a utility-heavy map. W7M used a really good strategy for their Bar hold which included operators like Castle, Jager, Smoke, Wamai, and Goyo. The strategy revolved around holding Cigar shop with a shield and Castle barricade covering the player on Cigar. BD was unable to clear the setup, so BD decided to jump from Skylight and make a play that didn’t go well for the team. The first half resulted in 4-2 lead for BD, which is really good as defending the map is easier. P4toxy was fragging out for BD, where he scored 10 kills in the first half alone while playing Nomad. BD was able to take the first map with a 7-3 scoreline, only dropping a single round on defense.

The second map was played on Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map with both Thatcher and Maverick banned. W7M banned Kaid as well to make sure the defenders can’t deny every wall and hatch. W7M use Montagne over Kali, which actually helped W7M to take multiple rounds on the attack. W7M was able to take the first attacking half with a 3-3 scoreline, which is impressive considering the Thatcher and Maverick ban. Both W7M and BD played extremely well in terms of gunfights and it resulted in a draw. That said, W7M could probably have avoided the 6-6 draw if they used more denial operators such as Bandit and Mute as a combo.

The final match for the ninth playday was between Team oNe Esports and INTZ. The first map was played on Villa, which is a defender-sided map with the Thatcher ban. Drunkzzz made an amazing play in round five as Ace, as he smoked out the rotate and baited the defenders to peek him one by one. Drunkzzz was able to pick up a few kills, but was not able to win the round. The first half finished with a 3-3 scoreline, which meant INTZ would then move on to defense. INTZ’s first defense round was played on Library, which is a bomb site only used for surprising the enemies. INTZ choked on defense and oNe was able to come back with a 7-5 scoreline.

The second map was played on Oregon, which is a utility-heavy map. Team oNe played the attack with frag-heavy operators and was unable to clear INTZ's defensive hold. INTZ managed to take the first half with a 4-2 scoreline. However, oNe’s aggressive plays worked when oNe started defending. Team oNe was able to win the match with a 7-4 scoreline.
