Roblox, a platform where users can create any video game they desire, is finally coming to Xbox One. It has been exclusive to PC and handheld devices until now, but managed to gain 15 million users and counting. David Baszucki, CEO of Roblox, spoke to iDigitalTimes about the gaming platform’s introduction to consoles and the 15 curated games available on Jan. 27.

The most exciting part of Roblox’s launch is games created on PCs and Macs will be available on phones, tablets, computers and the Xbox One. You can find games ranging from RPGs to simulators to first person shooters. Unfortunately, you cannot create games for Roblox on the Xbox One. The game creation feature is exclusive to PC and Mac users.

The games library on Roblox isn’t exclusive to a specific gaming platform. For example, let’s say you want to play a restaurant simulator on your Xbox One, but your friend has the game on her tablet. The fact one of you is on a tablet and the other is on an Xbox One doesn’t matter. You can both participate in the game together.

“It’s a combination of providing this core human need of experiencing new and different things together with your friends,” Baszucki said, referring to what draws gamers to Roblox. “We power [Roblox] with that variety and [our experiences] are immersive and work like they do in the real world. In our pizza restaurant simulator you can work the cash register and drive the car around to deliver pizzas. It’s super immersive and super social.”

Baszucki added, “If you’re playing on your computer and your friend wants to jump in on their phone, we offer the unique and somewhat revolutionary capability that you can participate in these experiences from any device simultaneously. It’s really the depth of our immersion powered by user created content and making it socially streamlined for you and your friends to do things together.”

The games exclusively available on Roblox’s Xbox One launch date are:

  1. Super Blocky Ball- Roll around through courses as a ball
  2. Reason 2 Die
  3. Framed!
  4. Giant Survival- Round-based play, Run away from a giant!
  5. Speed Run 4- Obstacle course
  6. Natural Disaster Survival
  7. Tiny Tanks
  8. Fisticuffs
  9. Strobe 2
  10. Stop it, Slender!
  11. Coalesce- stand on a flexible cloud of cubes and shoot others off theirs!
  12. Hide and Seek Extreme
  13. Bird Simulator
  14. Dodgeball
  15. Cube eat Cube

The Roblox community is rapidly growing. Baszucki confirmed the concurrency rate on Roblox is at 250,000 users at a time and climbing. Roblox’s games library consists of thousands of games, but only the games list above will be available at launch. However, Baszucki’s team aims to have the full Roblox games library available to Xbox One users soon.

“What’s really kind of big and different about Roblox, it’s really why we’re bigger than any one game, is [our platform] is a giant place to experience creation created by [our] community. Our community creates more than 6 million different experiences every year. They range all the way from a simulation of working in a pizza restaurant to being a top runway model to pretending you’re stuck on an island surviving natural disasters all the way back to more traditional things.”

Baszucki takes pride in Roblox’s growth as a platform where users can experience creations of its community since its launch in 2006. The Roblox community creates more than 6 million different game experiences a year. While Microsoft was a great partner for Roblox, Baszucki said Roblox wants to expand to VR and other gaming platforms in the future.

“Microsoft is a good partner for us. We use a lot of their technology and also deep into some work with them on a cool Windows 10 version of Roblox,” he said. “Our user community is super popular in the Xbox community. I would say when you look at platforms for Roblox including PS4, the Wii U, Apple TV, and Oculus Rift those are all potential platforms as well. This is our first foray into the living room but it won’t be the ultimate extent of where we go with Roblox.”
